Description:

Corning Cable Systems NI-2006 Network Interface Device (NID) houses from one to six patented Protected Terminating Device(PTD) modules in one weather-resistant enclosure for both indoor and outdoor applications. The PTD module provides overvoltage protection and termination in one compact, modular unit, combining line protection, line test electronics, environmentally sealed insulation displacement telco terminations, subscriber bridge, and RJ-11 test jack. The test jack is protected against the environment and other contaminants by Corning Cable Systems’ two-part WeatherGuard® seal. In addition, the plug/jack interface is designed so that the subscriber wiring bridge can only be accessed after the subscriber has physically disengaged the plug from the jack, thus fulfilling UL regulations.
